Creekline Revegetation

Salinity control

The revegetation of creek lines is the key to salinity control on a catchment scale as well provide a corridor for fauna.

Case Study

Holt Rock, WA

Problem:

A significant catchment transvers through the client’s property. Over the years they have noticed a deterioration in the remaining vegetation and waterlogging has slowly creeped into the surrounding paddock.

Solution:

Stage 1: Surface drainage has been the key to the rehabilitation of this creek line. A grader was used to follow the natural creek line so to concentrate the flow of water and help reduce the waterlogging across the paddocks especially over the winter months. A quick and effective way to construct surface drainage.

Stage 2: Native trees and shrubs have been planted throughout this area. Long-term these plants will help soak up moisture but more so link remnant vegetation and create a corridor for fauna.

Area was ripped and mounded in around remnant vegetation

Shallow surface drainage followed the existing creek-line. The draining helped to reduce waterlogging.
